Fresno Bee editorial on Stem Cell Research
Your editorial on the stem-cell veto leaves out much of the essence of the subject. Pope John Paul II wrote that "any act that uses embroyos or fetuses as an object of experimentation constitutes a crime against their dignity as human beings and this killing of innocent human creatures, even if carried out to help others, constitutes an absolutely unacceptable act". Stem cell research is acceptable and is supported by the churches when stem cells are derived from adults or umbilical-cord blood for scientific research. To state that Bush is "tarnished" by this veto is whose opinion? Then you mention "fake premises and a majority of Americans" in a way that this is an absolute truth. If you are in favor of all types of stem cell research then let private companies do the research. Why does every tax payer have to pay for your agenda? This using of fetuses could lead to trading in these aborted humans and could lead to a market supplied by the abortion clinics. Bush has stood up to the abortion lovers and has taken the high ground and your editorial is the one that has been tarnished. All the American people are getting from the press is hype.
I believe in life.
