Democratic Ideas About Oil
April 30, 2008

The Democrats have not changed, they are mixed up and ill-informed as usual with no intelligent data and are unable to back up their opinions with facts. Their constant hammering at Bush about the “ illegal”war in Iraq and the claim that there was no connection between al Qaeda and Saddam never stops. They conveniently ignore the comments by 9/11 co-chairman Tom Kean at the press conference to introduce the report. He said, directly: “ There was no question in our minds that there was a relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda.” Source: The weekly Standard April 28, 2008. I think that many of the Democrat senators are “brain-dead” when it comes to understanding our energy problem. I cannot believe the infantile statements by Hillary, Pelosi and Barack. In addition to the foolish comments on oil by Hillary and Obama, read the following:

  • From Ed Markey (D) "Oil companies are turning the American consumer upside down at the pump, shaking out every last cent."
  • Democrat Hinchey of N.Y."The way Exxon Mobil has crossed the moral threshhold is completely unacceptable."
  • Hillary " I want to take the profits from oil companies."

The Democrat politicians are against any attempt to increase our energy needs. Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and Barney Frank are attempting to block an on shore LNG facility in their state. Senator Lautenberg is against a proposed facility off the New Jersey coast. Senator Bill Nelson (D-Fla) aims to head off drilling off of Florida’s south coast. The most blatent proof of the Democrat strategy is the strategy proposed by Pelosi after the Democrats took control of the House in 2007. 17 studies have shown that “price gouging “ by oil companies is non-existant. Oil prices are up over 113% since the democrats took office. The other no-brainer idea is to have a “windfall profits tax.” There is plenty of oil in this country, but the Democrats prevent every attempt to find this oil, drill for it and refine it. This is the way to increase supplies, not by taxing the producers and reducing the supply.

Ignorance is bliss. Do these socialists know that Exxon Mobil pays more taxes than half of all of U.S. taxpayers? This year Exxon will pay $30 billion in taxes, at a 42% rate, leaving 40.6 billion in profit. Their profits are used for research, development, exploration and drilling. If the American voter believes this garbage that the democrats are putting out, this country is in real trouble.
