Obama Administration
March 23, 2009
Another update on what the Obama administration is doing or not doing for you the taxpayer.
- The latest fiasco is the misinformation about AIG. For starters,
Senator Chris Dodd’s campaign donations from AIG
during the 2008 election was $103,000 and Obama
received $101,232. They were the 1st and 2nd largest donations given by AIG.
The $787 billion stimulus bill exempted the AIG bonuses since the Dodd amendment exempted restrictions on bonuses
contractually obligated before Feb 11, 2009.
-
Obama warned us earlier that “recovery will
likely be measured in years, not weeks or months
and if nothing is done, this recession could linger
for years.“ Last week, Obama said things are not as
bad as we think they are now. Talk about talking
out of both sides of one’s mouth.
-
The Teamsters were able to a get a provision in the
Omnibus spending bill dropping the Bush project
permitting some Mexican trucks on our highways
under provisions of Nafta. Thank you Senator Dorgan(D). This new protectionism has resulted in
tariffs on 90 goods that we export to Mexico.
-
Our Senators act like imbecilic hacks.
In another vein, consider the two states that are chasing
business away:
- California with the highest tax rates
in the USA, the anti-business climate, the environmental groups that value fish over humans
and want to decimate our farming population. Agriculture is the number one industry in California
but most of the liberals in the Bay Area and Southern
California think that the supermarkets grow the produce that they sell in their stores.
- New York City
is the headquarters for many of our pharma companies. With a market cap of over $600 billion
and over half a million employees, why do the leading Democrats want price controls? And with people
like Rep. Henry Waxman(D)-Calif, it will get more
difficult to bring out new needed drugs for the American consumer.
- It still looks as if Obama is still on the campaign trail.
speeches on TV talk shoes, teleprompter presentations to potential voters and public relations
get togethers with no substance. He wants to create
jobs but no emphasis on energy drilling which employees Americans, no tax reductions on corporate
income - corporations employ millions of workers,
and instead “Cap and Trade on Energy companies
which will drive up the cost of energy to our citizens.
-
National Health Care which will cost maybe trillions of dollars and ruin most of our private run health insurers.
Obama lacks a basic understanding of our
capitalistic system and the same can be said of many
of his advisors. His goal of a socialistic economy is well underway.
