Subject: McClatchy endorsement of Obama:
It is interesting to try and understand why the McClatchy newspapers with all their problems are not presenting a more balanced view to their readers. Declining subscriptions, huge decline in their stock price, overuse of debt which threatens their solvency and competition from alternative sources of news and still the same old hackneyed liberal positions which omit critical facts. I will address some of these false comments:
Obama is better equipped to deal with the financial chaos. What about Obama’s relationship with ACORN? ACORN has endorsed Obama and Obama gave them $800,000 which was not properly reported. The current fraud with election corruption is a pattern of ACORN and Michelle Obama was a lawyer for the organization. Acorn and its affiliated groups press for a “living wage” “affordable housing” and “tax justice” ACCORN was a major contributor to the subprime meltdown by pushing lenders to make loans on lax terms and by conducting”strikes” on banks in order to lower credit standards.
On tax cuts and Obama’s cut of 95% in taxes to the “middle class”, this is an interesting proposal since 30% of American voters pay nothing in federal income taxes. How do you cut taxes for those who pay no federal income taxes? Obama does not define the middle class and wants to increase taxes on those who already pay 60% of all federal income taxes. This refers to the top 5% (those who make more than $153,542) The rich (the top 1% of income earners, those earning more than $388,806 a year) pay 40% of all federal income taxes.
Obama”s health plan only has to be compared to what Canada and Great Britain have which is in conformity with Obama”s plan and has huge waiting times for planned surgeries and a big shortage of doctors who have left for the U.S.A.
Obama has no energy plan, he is against drilling off shore, against nuclear energy, does not like even “clean” coal burning plants and reduce our economy back to an agrarian one until alternative energy sources become available. His plan would continue our reliance on foreign oil. He cannot reduce our dependence on oil since oil is the “blood” of our economy at present.
His simplified analysis of Iraq and Afghanistan is almost sophomoric. He claims that al Qaida was never in Iraq. The 9/11 commission pointed out that their findings never claimed that there was not a connection between al-Qaida and Sadam. Read what Hillary, Rockefeller, Kerry and other Democrat Senators said about Saddam. They had the same intelligence that Bush had and they all stated that Saddam had WMD’s.
Obama doesn’t have any military experience and his opinions on this subject are next to worthless.
You speak of the new voters that Obama has recruited. What about those who have registered to vote multiple times? I don’t see him criticizing his supporter-ACCORN.
You give no credit to Bush for the fact that the USA has not been attacked by the extremest Muslim groups. The fact is that those potential attacks have been thwarted by our intelligence despite that fact that Obama and the Democrats have tried to scuttle our intelligence and concentrate mostly on a "Bill of Rights" for our potential enemies. McCain is a patriot and a proud American and not ashamed of his country like so many Democrats, including Obama.
