American Politics-A New Low.
America is seeing something that I never thought would happen to this country. Senate majority Leader Harry Reid Stated on 4/19/07 that "the war is lost and we cannot win in Iraq." What effect will this be on our troops? Is this not treason by this so-called Leader? Can you imagine a political leader stating that during the battle for Iwo Jima that we could not win the battle? Or the Battle of the Bulge. We have in our midst a modern Benedict Arnold. Where is the republican minority? Why don’t we have a hearing on this type of treachery? At the same time, the Democrats, under the tutledge of Leahy and Shumer are demanding the scalp of Attorney General Gonzales. Has this Inquisition forgot the firing of 93 U.S. Attorneys while there were on on going investigations into Whitewater and Rostenkowski? In summary, under the law, U.S. Attorneys are hired and fired by the president; no public or private explanation is needed. The Democrats have no positive agenda, only hearings and investigations. They are attempting to treat global warming as a religion. They are unhappy that the Supreme Court has struck down partial birth abortion. Nancy Pelosi acts like General Pelosi and wants to conduct foreign policy on her own. I wish that some Republican would threaten her and other so-called “foreign policy reps” with the Logan Act. This act is a U.S. federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. It was passed In 1799 and amended in 1994. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony and punishable under federal law with imprisonment of up to three years.
