What are the facts now in Iraq?
A recent headline in Investor’s Business Daily, asked the question “Can the Liberal National Media be trusted to report the facts”?
Are you aware that the “Surge” has been successful and that the war there is practically over? There is still violence of course but the same could be said about Germany for some time after the surrender. Almost all of the “surge” troops sent in 2007 are home. Starting in May, U.S. and Iraqi troops have reduced 12,000 al-Qaida fighters to an estimated 1,200 by July, 2008. Iraq has achieved 15 of the 18 benchmarks set for the Iraqi government. Iraq is pumping more than 2.5 million barrels a day of oil. The mainstream media has simply excluded the good news. The Iraq war which was overwhelmingly approved by both parties, has become Bush’s war. Now the majority of main stream media outlets act as if Iraq does not exist. From Harry Reid’s “The war is lost” to the great majority of Democrat senators and House Representatives who were happy when the war was going badly, they now give no credit to the “surge” nor our Military and in particular President Bush.
