Health Care comparisons to Britain & Canada
October 29, 2009

We are taking a break here in Coronado. I need some relaxation so that I can heal after my knee surgery. The weather is warmer and one can walk to most restaurants and stores.

The health care bill is about to become law and Pelosi and Reid are running the country in regard to this important issue. Thomas Sowell states in the IBD 10/28/2009 that when international comparisons of medical care are made that the USA usually ranks higher than countries with govt-run medical systems on items like waiting times to see primary care physicians, or to see specialists or have surgery and cancer survival rates. The number of CT scanners per million population was 7.5 in Britain,11.2 in Canada and 26.6 per million in the USA. In regard to MRI units 5.4 MRI’s per million population in Britain, 5.5 in Canada and 26.6 per million in the USA. No matter what stats show about single pay govt health care, either the public cannot read or the Democrats are lying.

The enviros are at it again lead by Al Gore, The Sierra Club et al. The Federal govt has designated over 200,000 square miles off the coast of Alaska as critical habit for polar bears-this kills our hopes to exploit the energy potential of our American Arctic. According to Mitch Taylor, a Canadian polar bear biologist the population of about 24,000 is up 40% since 1974. The USA, lead by the Democrat enviros, are gradually turning our country into a third world nation dependent on others for our energy needs in addition to not permitting new jobs to be created at the same time.

We still have to endure the outright lying verbiage of Barney Frank and his explanation of what caused the housing crisis. He blames the private sector for sub-prime lending while omitting the fact that it was government policies that created the demand for sub-prime loans. Fannie and Freddie reduced their lending standards to meet affordable housing standards. They were required to buy mortgages made to home buyers who were at or below the median income by HUD. The big lie continues and the public buys into it.

There are some important elections coming up in New Jersey, New York And other states. Let’s see if the voters are disgusted with the economic climate enough to make changes.
