Liberal Newspapers are alive and well.
Now that the mid-term elections are over, we can expect more mis-information emanating from the main-stream press. A couple of articles that appeared in the McClatchy newspapers, the Fresno Bee, are good examples. The first article talks about the ATM tax which slaps an extra income tax on many higher income people. This tax was installed by the Democrats in 1969 to make people with high incomes, pay their “ fair share”. However, because the rate was never adjusted for inflation, many more people became subject to the tax. As a matter of fact, there are 23.4 million upper middle income taxpayaers-about one in four tax filers which are affected. The news media would now like to see the Bush-tax cuts reduced because the impact of the ATM tax on many Democrat states is starting to back-fire with many tax-payers of those states. The Democrats got us into this mess because they wanted to punish a few wealthy individuals and now over 23 million are impacted. I suggest that we let them squirm out of this one since they are the cause. Also, the Bush tax-cuts are not responsible for deficits because tax revenues from federal and state governments have soared. When Kennedy cut taxes, revenues went up and when Reagan reduced marginal tax-rates, federal tax receipts doubled from $517 billion to $1,032 billion. With Bush tax reductions, tax receipts will be about $250 billion above last year’s levels and the deficit will be about $100 billion less than projected. Tax cuts provoke increased economic activity, which in turn can bring increased tax-revenues which lowers the deficit. When will the Democrats and their journalism friends finally understand the “Laffer Curve” and how lowering of marginal tax rates can increase revenues rather then lowering them.
The second item concerns stem-cell research. The liberal press talks only about stem cell research and never differentiates between embryonic stem cell research which gets its data from fetuses, killing babies in the womb, as opposed to stem-cell research which focuses on adult stem cells and which has had successes in treating dozens of diseases. Embryonic stem cell researchers have produced nothing. The Third Reich experimented with human embryos and many in America do not want tax-payer dollars supporting this type of research. Let private research perform this grissly experimentation. Why will not the press tell the public the true story? I fear that the Hollywood "Pie in The Sky" crowd does not want to hear the truth.
