Headlines of November 2009
The headlines are zooming in on the Obama administration. First, the 10.2% jobless rate just announced is the highest since 1983 with 190,000 jobs lost since last month. The Keynsian approach of throwing money at the economy with no fiscal or tax-policy reductions is not working. The Iraqi oil ministry just awarded an Exxon Mobil consortium the right to develop one of the largest oil fields in the world. I have seen no estimates of how many employees will be involved or if many Americans will be involved. It is interesting to note that with the high U.S. unemployment, there is no attempt to turn loose our oil companies on the huge oil and gas reserves in our country. The Obama Group prefers to drill outside of the U.S. rather than construct domestic plants and equipment and let large domestic companies like Exxon with U.S. employees, do the work. I am tired of reading about Cap and Trade by the Enviros and those who want to turn the calendar back to a semi-stone- age economy.
The horrific event of a Muslim Army major killing 13 people and wounding 29 others at Fort Hood Texas is now being analyzed. This is not the first time a Muslim in the U.S. military has killed some of his fellow soldiers for no reason. A connection has been discovered that indicates that Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with al-Qaida prior to the massacre. Also, according to the London Sunday Telegraph, Hasan attended services at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Va in 2001 at the same time as Sept. 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour. When will this country wake up and stop bending over backwards for domestic Muslims? In my opinion, every known Muslim in the Armed Forces should be thoroughly investigated and confirmed that he or she is not a potential terrorist.
This is a very scary scenario for our country and for my children and grandchildren, if this country does not get serious about our domestic security.
