Gianna Jessen
October 26, 2006

The forthcoming election on November 7, 2006 brings back similarities of the propositions that went down in the last election. The interesting case in point is the so-called non-Partisan position of the League of Women Voters. Proposition 73 was defeated in the last election and it was the proposition that would have required parental notification in the case of a underage women requesting an abortion. The “League” provides pamphlets on the election and the information is good and unbiased since pros and cons are discussed. However, if you go to their web-site you will find position statements such as “Tell congress not to privatize social security”, "Another victory in refusing to allow the opening of ANWR”, “Increasing concerns about encroachment on civil liberties due to expansion of the “Patriot Act”. Now with proposition 85 on the current ballot, the “Leagues” website is recommending a No vote and this proposition is similar to Prop 73 in that it would require parental notification in the case of underage women requesting an abortion. The League is not honest about it’s mission and should not enjoy any tax-exempt status if in fact they enjoy it now. Now for the essence of this blog. Missing from the main-line press that supports abortion is the following article:

Gianna Jessen and her story of life and living is a wake up call to those liberals that look at abortion as some type of experience that has no effect on them nor anyone else and that have no feeling of guilt about this scourge that has affected our country. Gianna’s biological mother was 17 when she had a saline abortion. She was in her third trimester, when she was injected with the saline solution, which was intended to end Gianna’s life. After being burned alive in her mother’s womb for approximately 18 hours, Gianna was delivered alive in a Los Angeles Country abortion clinic. Then a nurse called an ambulance and had her transferred to a hospital. The lack of oxygen To her brain while she was being aborted is what caused her Cerebral Palsy. Gianna was placed in a foster care home and accepted by a foster care woman named Penny. Gianna was adopted by Penny’s daughter and Penny became Gianna’s grandmother. In Gianna’s mind, Penny saved her life. Gianna is now a singer, songwriter, and works with independent artists and also has written songs and recorded with Phil Keaggy. She is working on her first book. Gianna’s travels have led her all over the world , speaking to corporations, youth organizations, churches and well as before Congress. Upon meeting President George Bush on August 5, 2002, Gianna said “ I never knew that meeting one person could be a school…he showed me my flaws by loving me ..he showed me how to be a better leader.” There is much more to tell about this wonderful woman but I hope that the pro-abortion lobby can get a chance to hear her message and stop calling a fetus in a womb just a blob. Anyone hearing Gianna’s story, which I heard on the radio can bring tears even to the most pro-abortion advocates.
